The IC&CY Home Service Force Squadron
In 1986 a Home Service Force (HSF) Squadron was raised at Lincoln's Inn and badged IC&CY. It was designated 348 (ICCY) Signal Squadron HSF and commanded by Major RPG Duxbury TD. It recruited only trained servicemen (from all three services) and was tasked with home defence, guarding Key Points across the UK. The broad range of experience available resulted in it being the only HSF unit to be utilised by London District in Gulf War One. Our Royal Honorary Colonel HM The Queen Mother presented the Squadron with its own Camp Colour in 1988. The 1994 Defence Review disbanded the HSF and the IC&CY HSF Squadron was re-roled as the Regimental Defence Troop, finally being absorbed by 71 Signal Regiment in 1995.
